So a phone interview with an American, I'm Australian. The call was from Japan, to add in more nations to the mix. it went really well. You don't realise how different American English is to Australian English at times. An example and a new word I learnt. Nursery. For me Nursery is the room in which a baby sleeps in the house, nursery is the same as Creche, a child care thing for kids too young for sunday school, so usually for those that are not in school yet.
The phone interview really showed me that, even though i will be teaching English to Asian students at this school, I will be continually learning new words. I have been accepted to go to the school and I will be the only Australian there. Bye Bye Aussie Accent. I also learnt more about the school and what I will be doing there. That will come when i start at the school. I also feel that while i am in Japan, the things that i learn at SYME will really help student life back in Rocky. I know i will be doing discipleship while in Japan. We do this on campus, so i am hoping that my time in japan i will find out ways of improving what we do and topics for it as well.
